Will it be as cool as the original!? Does it have a place in the modern era!?
π The article in The Sun about Ford reviving the Capri name on a battery-powered SUV was the story of the week (or non-story, depending on your perspective).
πΊπΈ Naturally, the American corporation, which is struggling to redefine itself as a significant participant in the EV sector, did not confirm anything of the such. Yet, that didn’t stop everyone from chiming in with their thoughts on whether or not it was a good idea…..even sacrifice!
π Recall that Ford has been in this location before. It caused controversy when it gave the 2019 electric Mach-E the illustrious Mustang V8 “muscle vehicle” moniker, and it’s believed that Capri will cause just as much controversy.
π¬ Even if it’s just a rumour, using the Capri brand on a battery-powered SUV could spark just as much controversy as using the Mustang name again. Why should this be any different when the automotive industry consistently brings back storied names?
